What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to treat pigment in the hair. The absorbed energy converts to heat and destroys the hair follicle.
A course of treatments is needed to target hairs in the active growth phase. Multiple sessions help target the hairs as they move through their growth cycles, resulting in a gradual reduction is growth.
Laser hair removal is commonly used on areas such as underarms, backs, legs and male and female intimate areas. Results vary depending on factors including hair colour, skin tone and hormonal influences.
Laser hair removal is primarily a method of long-term hair reduction. It works best on pigmentated hair, so very light brown, white, grey and red hairs may not respond effectively.

Most client require a course of treatments to acheive a noticeable reduction in hair growth. The number of sessions depends on multiple factors including treatment area, hair characteristics and individual response. I recommend six as a minimum with most clients seeing results in 8-10 treatments. However, this is only a guide.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction, but it cannot guarantee that all hair will be permanently removed. Some hairs may remain, and regrowth or maintenance treatments may be needed. Electrolysis is an alternative for permanently removing individual hairs, including hairs that laser cannot treat.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Sensation varies between individuals and treatment areas. You may experience warmth, tingling or a brief snapping sensation. Your comfort and skin response will be monitored throughout treatment.
Does laser hair removal work on blonde, white or grey hair?
Laser relies on pigment in the hair to absorb light energy. White, grey, blonde, red and very light brown hairs generally respond poorly. Electrolysis can be a suitable alternative for these hair colours.
Can I have laser hair removal if I have PCOS/PMOS or hormonal hair growth?
Laser can help reduce unwanted hair associated with PMOS and other hormonal influences. However, ongoing hormonal stimulation can encourage new hair growth, meaning results may be less predictable and maintenance treatments may be needed.
